Contemporary Metal Art - Unique Hand Crafted Steel Sculpture

My sculpture practice combines aspects of traditional fine art and craft with modern industrial and engineering technology, pursuing the relationship between form and function with particular emphasis placed on structure, process and materials.

Metalwork has always been a pivotal aspect of human culture. The basic processes I use, particularly high temperature forming and casting, have a physicality which is a direct link between contemporary art and an ancient tradition. The making process itself takes on an almost ritual aspect, exploring transformation and evolution of materials and imagery.

The physical making process and inherent properties of the materials I use, particularly cast iron, steel and other metals are fundamental to my approach to creating sculpture.

If you are interested in commissioning a sculpture then please e-mail me through the link above and I will be happy to discuss your requirements with you. I also have a selection of finished sculptures available for sale.
